Registration Now Open for LWVNC 2020 Council, Happening April 17-18
January 29, 2020
UPDATED 3-10-20: LWVNC has decided to postpone the 2020 Council meetings scheduled for April 17 and 18 in Raleigh because of the COVID-19 concern. We hope to reschedule at a later date.
We hope you’ll make plans to attend the League of Women Voters of North Carolina’s 2020 Council! We have much to discuss and celebrate, given that this is our 100th year as well as the centennial of the 19th Amendment. Council will take place Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 at the Residence Inn Raleigh Crabtree Hotel (2200 Summit Park Lane). The programming for “Securing Our Strengths for the Next Century” will include a plenary session on growing the League; a program by Better Angels, an organization addressing the country’s partisan divide; opportunities for members to meet with their counterparts in similar LWV roles; centennial activities; a session on making the most out of your social media presence; and tips on how to create a strategic plan.
We’ll kick off at 1 pm on April 17 with a reception at the State League’s new office – 3509 Haworth Drive, Suite 206, Raleigh (about 3 miles from the hotel).
1. Fill out this form electronically OR mail in the required information. (Mailing Address: League of Women Voters of NC, 3509 Haworth Drive, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27609).
2. Pay your Council registration fee (due April 1) by mailing LWVNC a $26.00 check (memo: “Council”) or by making a $26.00 donation here.
3. Those who need overnight accommodations are encouraged to utilize our group rate at the adjacent hotel – Fairfield Inn & Suites ($108/night). Here’s the link to our block of rooms.
Remember, local leagues pay for their rooms as well as a small registration fee to cover costs such as printing needs. We are trying to keep the costs down so you can use your league funds for your celebrations and events. We will reveal a more detailed agenda very soon.
We are excited to see you in April!
